The AELAB Gel Strength Tester JS-II is mainly used to measure the gel strength of gelatin under the stipulated environmental conditions. Gel strength is an important indicator for evaluating gelatin quality and production processes. The JS-II set consists of the JS-II gel strength tester, one set of HW-III precise constant temperature monitoring cold water tank, and one set of ZL-III efficient refrigerating machine.
This system meets the analytical requirements defined in the Pharmacopoeia of Edition 2015. It incorporates computer monitoring of press-in depth error to ensure dynamic, accurate gel strength measurement with high precision across food, pharmaceutical, and industrial gelatin applications.
The AELAB JS-II Gel Strength Tester uses a high-definition LCD interface and precision mechanical drive with 4-class shockproof design. The probe, sampling cylinders, and standard gel bottles are manufactured to strict dimensional tolerances (12.70 ± 0.01 mm probe diameter; 150 mL gel bottle capacity). The thermostatic water tank features a magnetic circulating pump for uniform bath temperature, Stainless Steel liner, and full-automatic frequency-converting temperature control.
The JS-II quantifies gelatin Bloom strength by pressing a probe into the gel sample to a specified depth while dynamically monitoring displacement error. The system records final value, mean value, and peak load of the press-in force. Five sampling speeds (0.1 mm/s, 0.2 mm/s, 0.5 mm/s, 1 mm/s, 2 mm/s) and two sampling results modes support multiple testing conditions. Sampling depth is adjustable from 1–60 mm, enabling evaluation of different gel maturation levels.
The JS-II supports internal data processing, displaying real-time measurement values, preset sampling depths, and final Bloom results directly on the LCD. Automatic calibration prompts, measurement verification with standard weights, and system fault diagnosis enhance GLP workflow integration.
