It meets all requirements for the measurement time limit in the Pharmacopoeia of Edition 2015 and dynamically monitors the press-in depth error of the probe throughout the testing process.
The AELAB JS-III Gel Strength Tester is engineered with an intelligent LCD interface, precision displacement system, and regulated water bath structure. The thermostatic bath maintains 5–60 °C with ±0.1 °C accuracy, supported by a magnetic circulating water pump for uniform heat distribution. A high-precision temperature sensor ensures consistent measurement conditions, while the full-automatic frequency-conversion refrigeration system stabilizes the bath rapidly for repeated testing. The integrated cylinder assembly and standardized gel bottles ensure reproducible penetration geometry for high-quality Bloom strength determinations.
The JS-III applies a controlled downward probe movement into a gelatin sample after defined conditioning. The system records penetration depth, force (Bloom g), and stroke displacement with ≤±0.1 mm error. The embedded controller interprets the real-time force curve to determine Bloom strength. Users may select single-step, auto, maintaining, or circular sampling modes. Two-speed penetration modes (normal and high-speed) enable precise testing across a variety of gelatin hardness profiles.
