Considering that prolonged sitting may cause shoulder and neck strain as well as lower back discomfort among colleague, the company specially organized group shoulder and neck rehabilitation exercises for all staff at 1:15 PM every Tuesday and Thursday. Accompanied by soothing music, everyone put down their work, stretched their muscles and activated their shoulder and neck, recharging their bodies with 15 minutes of relaxation.
The monthly book club and business report meeting at the end of each month are important moments for AELAB to unite its team. To break down inter-departmental barriers and enhance mutual familiarity, fun interactive games are always arranged before the monthly meeting. This month, the Event Department carefully designed four games, including puzzle games that test responsiveness and sports challenges that boost vitality: In “Squirrels and Big Trees,” everyone reorganized quickly at the command, and the partners who were left out brought waves of laughter with small penalties; in “Blindfolded Banana Feeding,” the blindfolded feeders and eaters cooperated with tacit understanding, and the competition between the two groups was not only about speed but also team collaboration; in “The Director Says,” everyone focused on distinguishing instructions, finding joy in “obeying” and “reversing” commands; “Guess the Idiom by Actions” combined physical expression with mental thinking, and the race to guess idioms within three minutes ignited the enthusiasm of all participants.
The shared book of the club is Tadashi Murata’s “Six Practices of Diligence”. The wise words in the book deeply inspired everyone: “Honing your abilities is a way to eliminate stress—when you have sufficient capabilities, stress will naturally disappear”; “Learn from great people, learn from ordinary people, and even learn from people you dislike. No matter who the object is, if we ‘only pick the good parts to learn’, we will surely become happy”; “The highest form of kindness in the universe is gratitude.
