The AELAB GM-7 features a robust integral optical system designed for 75° gloss measurement. Its backlit 4-digit LCD provides clear readings in low-light environments. The measuring aperture (7 mm × 14 mm ellipse) ensures stable performance on coatings, plastics, paper, and material surfaces. The housing is lightweight and engineered for portable, daily QC inspections.
The GM-7 operates by projecting controlled illumination onto a surface at a 75° geometry and detecting reflected intensity in Gloss Units (GU). Its internal calibration mechanism ensures measurement stability across the full 0.1GU–200GU spectrum. Data acquisition is processed digitally with 0.1 GU resolution and ±0.5 GU repeatability, enabling reliable comparative analysis across multiple samples.
The AELAB GM-7 supports direct USB data transfer through the optional USB cable and software suite. Wireless communication is available via the optional Bluetooth Data Adapter, enabling integration with PC-based QC software, reporting tools, and GLP-compliant data archiving formats.
