Overview
Optima-M6 sulfur dioxide distillation titrator is based on “National Food Safety Standard: Determination of Sulfur Dioxide in Food GB 5009.34-2022 and Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China Part IV General Rule 2331 Sulfur Dioxide Strong Residual Determination Method.” The system integrates heating, distillation, cooling water circulation, nitrogen purging, magnetic stirring, and acid-base titration.
Food and Chinese medicinal materials are treated by distillation, converting sulfite substances into sulfur dioxide after acid treatment. The SO₂ is absorbed by hydrogen peroxide and oxidized to sulfate ion, then measured by acid-base titration. The AELAB Optima-M6 is suitable for food testing, drug production, scientific research, and routine sulfur dioxide residue determination.
⚙️ Design & Construction
The Optima-M6 features integrated heating, distillation, and cooling circuits with high-efficiency far-infrared heating technology. The Six-position (Optima-M6) heating units provide uniform heat transfer with low power consumption and no open flame. A built-in nitrogen purge system, magnetic stirring module, and corrosion-resistant exterior ensure long-term stability. The external 7-inch LCD touch screen prevents liquid splash interference and provides intuitive control.
🔬 Working Principle / Testing Method
The system distills samples after acidification, releasing sulfur dioxide which is transported by nitrogen into a hydrogen peroxide absorbing solution. Here it oxidizes to sulfate ion, which is then quantified via acid-base titration. Automated timing (0–600 minutes), nitrogen flow control (0–2 L/min), and adjustable power output allow precise replication of regulated sulfur dioxide determination methods.
💡 Key Advantages
