The AELAB GM-7 Gloss Meter measures low-gloss (75°) materials with high accuracy and repeatability. It stores 254 readings, supports USB/Bluetooth output, and integrates automatic calibration, a rechargeable battery, and a high-visibility backlit LCD. The measuring aperture (7 mm × 14 mm ellipse) ensures stable performance on coatings, plastics, paper, and material surfaces. The housing is lightweight and engineered for portable, daily QC inspections.

🔬 Working Principle / Testing Method

The GM-7 operates by projecting controlled illumination onto a surface at a 75° geometry and detecting reflected intensity in Gloss Units (GU). Its internal calibration mechanism ensures measurement stability across the full 0.1GU–200GU spectrum. Data acquisition is processed digitally with 0.1 GU resolution and ±0.5 GU repeatability, enabling reliable comparative analysis across multiple samples.
