The AELAB T8001 Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometer is a high-performance, computer-controlled instrument designed for reliable trace metal analysis. Operated via a USB 3.0 interface, it integrates the graphite furnace power supply and absorption host into a single housing, minimizing cable length and electromagnetic interference while enhancing graphite tube heating efficiency. The 150-position rotary automatic sampler ensures stable, accurate, and repeatable operation.

⚙️ Design & Construction

The T8001 employs an integrated total reflection achromatic optical system using concave mirrors to eliminate color-difference errors between focal points, improving optical efficiency. The streamlined sheet-metal enclosure provides superior thermal stability and durability. The graphite furnace features micro-resistance heating, precision temperature control (± 1 %), and real-time monitoring of carrier gas and temperature feedback.

🔬 Working Principle / Testing Method

The system utilizes a Czerny–Turner monochromator with 1800 lines/mm grating and 230 nm diffraction for element isolation. During operation, metal atoms are atomized within the graphite tube, and absorbance is measured against a deuterium lamp background correction system (over 60 times correction capability). Up to seven lamps can be preheated, enabling rapid element switching for cadmium, lead, zinc, and other heavy-metal analyses.

💡 Key Advantages

  • Integrated graphite furnace and host minimize electromagnetic interference.
  • USB 3.0 communication ensures high-speed data acquisition and transfer.
  • Heating rate up to 3000 °C/s with ± 1 % temperature precision.
  • Low detection limit ≤ 1 pg for cadmium measurement.
  • Automatic five-gear spectral bandwidth switching (0.1–1.4 nm).
  • 230 nm grating splitting system for high resolution and signal stability.
  • Fully automated furnace control with 150-position sampler.

🔗 Connectivity & Integration

The instrument supports USB 3.0 interface for rapid data transmission and external PC control.
