⚙️ Design & Construction

The AELAB NR110 employs an integrating sphere optical path design to eliminate stray light from the main and auxiliary optical paths, enhancing stability and precision. Both NR110 and NR200 use a Silicon photoelectric diode detector, D65/LED blue light excitation, and robust end faces for large stable and small concave–convex measurements. Power is supplied by rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries; NR110 specifies 3.7V@3200mAh.

 

🔬 Working Principle / Testing Method

The portable colorimeter quantifies color using standard color spaces and formulas. NR110 supports CIEL*a*b*C*h* and CIEL*a*b*; NR200 supports CIEXYZ. Color difference is calculated using △E*ab, △L*a*b*, and △E*C*h*. The instrument operates with 8/d illuminating/view geometry (specified for NR200) and uses illumination/cross locating for accurate sample positioning. Data acquisition is stabilized to achieve repeatability with standard deviation within ΔE*ab 0.08 over 30 measurements of a standard white plate.
