A UV-Vis spectrophotometer is a laboratory instrument used to measure the absorbance or transmittance of ultraviolet (UV) and visible (Vis) light by a sample. It works by passing light through a sample and detecting how much of that light is absorbed at different wavelengths, typically in the range of 190 to 1100 nanometers.
